All I know is that I’m jealous of Rodrigo Corral because I wish I designed that cover.

I was surprised to learn that he was responsible for several other covers which I had seen on the internet and felt was brilliant, such as the reissues of Camus. After looking at the other covers in his portfolio, The standouts are the covers in which he has fewer elements to work with. he seems to have mastered the less-is-more approach.

But judging by the cover I’d say this is about 70’s porn. The hot magenta lips are not unlike that of a blow-up doll, at least from what I could tell from pictures I’ve seen of them. The title of the book is contoured to fill the space within the mouth, reminiscent of those psychedelic rock posters from the Fillmore, which is probably why it has that 70s feel. But look closer my friends and you’ll see a woman sucking, hanging, I don’t know, doing something to the negative space of the letter U.

Oh yea, and with just 4 fleshy hot colors (plus black), the cover is arresting and would make a great movie poster to boot.
